Blocking yourself from every licensed site at once
GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) is free, and registering blocks you from every gambling site licensed in Great Britain — not just the one you are on. You choose six months, one year or five years, and it cannot be undone before the period ends.
Every operator listed on this site is licensed in Great Britain, which means every one of them is covered by GAMSTOP. That is one of the reasons this site lists only licensed operators.
The tools already in your account
A licensed operator has to offer these, and they take a couple of minutes to set. Setting them before you deposit is easier than setting them afterwards.
- Deposit limits — daily, weekly or monthly. Lowering one takes effect immediately; raising one has to wait.
- Loss and stake limits — a cap on what you lose rather than what you put in.
- Reality checks — a pop-up at an interval you choose, telling you how long you have been playing.
- Time-out — a short break, from a day to six weeks, without closing the account.
- Self-exclusion — a minimum of six months with that operator, and they must close your account and stop marketing to you.
How to read a free-spins offer honestly
This site exists to compare these offers, so it should also say plainly what they are. A 200-spin welcome offer is a marketing cost an operator has decided is worth paying to acquire an account. Every condition attached to it — the qualifying stake, the spin value, the wagering, the withdrawal cap, the expiry — exists to make that arithmetic work for the operator.
That does not make the offers worthless, and some of them are genuinely better than others, which is the point of the comparisons here. It does mean two things are true at once: the spins are free, and the offer is not a way to make money. If you would not put the qualifying stake through without the spins, the spins are not a reason to.
Three specific things worth checking before you claim anything, all of which are on every offer page here:
- The maximum you can withdraw from the spins. On some offers it is lower than the spins are worth as play.
- Whether a win arrives as cash or as bonus funds. Bonus funds have to be played through before they become money.
- The expiry. A short clock is the condition most likely to turn a win into nothing.
18+
Gambling in Great Britain is restricted to people aged 18 or over. Every operator has to verify your age and identity before you play, and this site is not intended for anyone under 18.
If a child or a vulnerable person has access to your device, filtering software can block gambling content: Net Nanny (opens in a new tab) and Qustodio (opens in a new tab) are two of the common ones.
If it is someone else’s gambling
GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline support people affected by another person’s gambling, not only gamblers themselves. You do not need their permission or their involvement to call.
